It was last summer, but I distinctly remember the moment as if it were yesterday. I had just signed on to write a new book on soups, as part of the Superfood Series, and after a couple weeks of getting my creative ambition riled up, I ventured out to my local store to buy testing ingredients for the book’s very first recipe: a Fennel Bisque with Goldenberry Chutney.
You must understand, this is a very beautiful time in the writing process: a time not yet complicated with the likes of looming deadlines, problem-solving stresses, writers’ block frustrations, etc. Rather, it’s a time where the ideas are free-flowing, the possibilities seem almost endless, and there’s a hunger both creatively and literally. But what made this moment so special, was when I happen to glance down at my shopping cart. Scanning the contents, I saw the most beautiful curation of fresh, abundantly vibrant ingredients beaming up at me — everything going in was something really, really good! That was moment I realized that Superfood Soups could be more than just a cookbook … these delicious recipes could be a catalyst for real change. Watch our little book trailer:
Putting these special recipes together over the past year has truly been one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever worked on, professionally, and personally. Between the 100+ recipes, essential soup-making tips, fascinating superfood breakdown, and guide to using soups to support your personal health goals, this book comes absolutely loaded with goodness. Superfood Soups hits bookstore shelves nationwide on September 6, and is also available for preorder. I truly can’t wait for this experience to be all yours!
