Juicing may have had a consistent role in the natural food scene for decades now, yet nevertheless, it has really only hit its true stride in the healthy big-time within the past several years. Now, with juice cafes popping up left and right, rows of fresh juice painting the aisles of supermarkets, and talks of juicing and its benefits officially at a dull roar, isn’t it time you embraced this exceptionally healthy habit in the comfort of your own home? Beyond a rainbow of fresh produce, you’ll need only a few key items to create your own homemade juice revolution. These are the items that I find to be the most invaluable for juicing:
STAINLESS STEEL STRAINER | For silky smooth juices or homemade nutmilks, a quick pass through a strainer is all you need. A great tool to have in the kitchen beyond just juicing, too.
GLASS STORAGE JARS | Make juice for the whole day and have it on hand for when you need it! Glass mason jars are an inexpensive must (I love these ones with handles!)
LIQUID STEVIA | Your magic wand! Stevia can boost the sweetness and even the flavor of recipes without raising the sugar content. This is a great brand that doesn’t have a bitter aftertaste.
SUPERFOOD JUICES | My new book on juicing is a wonderful primer: learn how to embrace the full benefits of juicing, explore creating your own unique flavors, navigate how to design personalized functional cleanses perfectly tailored to your needs, and take advantage of superfoods to create truly the most nutritious and flavorful recipes. These are not your average juice recipes, to say the least!
LEMON / LIME SQUEEZER | A zip of fresh lemon or lime juice can quickly take a flat-tasting juice into a perfectly balanced realm. These squeezers make exceptionally quick work out of extracting citrus juice.
SHAKER CUP | To easily incorporate superfood powders, or ingredients like chia seeds to make your own juice-chia drinks, a good shaker cup is key.
JUICER | If you plan on making juices regularly, you’ll definitely need a juicer. This is my favorite one, which I love because it’s well made, efficient, easy to clean (which make it invaluable in my book!), and a fair price. There are also simpler models that are even more cost-consious.
