Well, summer certainly came in with a bang. It’s been crazy hot around here — several days over 100 degrees (gross, I know) — which means smoothies and juices have been quickly ushered into the spot of “primary food group” this past week. Right now I’m really digging classic flavors … I mean, there’s a reason they’ve been around so long, right? So on that note, here’s a retro-style smoothie I’ve been absolutely loving, made from all good things of course!
Strawberry Milkshake
This rich, deluxe strawberry shake offers more than just a classic flavor! It also provides skin-protective antioxidants, hydrating electrolytes, as well as the satiating power of fiber and healthy fats.
Makes 2 cups; Serves 1
¾ cup frozen strawberries
½ cup ice
3 tablespoon raw cashews
¾ cup coconut water
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch sea salt
1 Medjool date, pitted
Combine all the ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth and frosty.
